Job Overview:
Citi Banking is actively seeking highly skilled and motivated Investment Banking Analysts to join its dynamic team in Amsterdam. This role is central to assisting clients in navigating capital markets to raise funds, as well as providing sophisticated strategic advisory services for complex financial transactions such as mergers, acquisitions, and other corporate finance activities, in close coordination with the broader Banking team. The Investment Banking Analyst also plays a key role as an intermediary in trading operations for clients. The overarching objective of this position is to act as a strategic advisor, contributing to the formulation of tailored investment strategies and successful capital raising for our clients.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate closely with senior Corporate & Investment Bank (CIB) officers and experienced professionals, actively participating in client transactions, projects, and assignments as a valued junior member of the Investment Banking team.
- Assume responsibility for meticulously organizing and rigorously analysing sophisticated financial data, which forms the critical foundation for client proposals and strategic business plans.
- Prepare compelling written recommendations, comprehensive valuation materials, and insightful statistical exhibits for pitch presentations and active deal execution.
- Conduct thorough economic and financial research, providing crucial data and analysis to inform strategic decision-making and client advice.
- Systematically evaluate a company’s financial performance, benchmarking it against overall industry and market trends to identify key insights and opportunities.
- Construct and maintain complex financial models for various valuation purposes, ensuring accuracy, robustness, and reliability.
- Appropriately assess and mitigate risk in all business decisions, demonstrating an acute consideration for the firm's reputation and diligently safeguarding Citigroup, its clients, and assets. This includes driving compliance with applicable laws, rules, and regulations, strictly adhering to company Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behaviour, conduct, and business practices, and transparently escalating, managing, and reporting control issues.
Qualifications:
- Currently in your final year of university studies or a recent graduate.
- Expected to achieve, or have already achieved, a 2:1 (or equivalent academic standing) at the undergraduate level in any degree discipline or Grade 7 above if studying at a Dutch university.
- A Bachelor's / University degree in Finance or closely related areas of Business Administration is required.
- Fluency in both English and Dutch is essential, encompassing strong verbal and written communication skills in both languages.
- A strong, demonstrable interest in business and the broader financial industry.
- Possess a record of strong academic achievement, indicating intellectual capability and dedication.
